Here's some inspiration to take your doula business to the next level:
Create a consistent free meetup event. Be the leader of your local birth community. Create a monthly Doula Tea or Meet the Doula event in your area. The key here is consistency. This won’t work if you host one and give up if no one shows up. Pick a consistent date and place (the first Thursday of the month at XYZ coffee shop). Invite a select few other birthworkers to join you and help you spread the word. It may start slow, but if it’s a consistent offering - it will be easy for others to help you advertise it. Soon you’ll have all the prenatal yoga instructors in town saying “Check out the Doula Tea that happens every month…”
Create a quarterly networking event. Establish yourself as the generous leader of your local birth community. Create a quarterly networking event in your area. Invite all birthworkers to attend and bring their business cards. Whether this is via Zoom or in-person, give everyone the chance to speak for 2 minutes to introduce themselves & share how they are helping birthing families. Not only do you build your own referral network, this is a great pool to bulid from as you start to create local baby fairs and other opportunities.
