Creating a digital course is one of the best ways to help more people as a doula - without spending more hours away from your family.

In this blog post, I’ll give a birds-eye view to explore and compare the features, pricing, and benefits of each platform to help you make an informed decision.

Synopsis from Darcy: Kajabi has the most robust offering suite - combing email marketing AND your courses & products for a flat fee. I use Kajabi now for everything, but when I was first starting out I used Teachable for my courses and Mailchimp for email until I got to the point where it made financial sense to put everything on Kajabi. And that’s the thing - you can always change things up!
Pricing:
1. ThriveCart:
- ThriveCart offers a one-time payment option starting at $495 for the standard plan, with additional $195 per year for continued updates and support.
- No recurring monthly fees.
- No additional fees based off of revenue earned.
2. Kajabi:
- Kajabi offers tiered pricing plans, starting at $149 per month for the basic plan, up to $399 per month for the pro plan.
- Monthly fees depend on the number of active contacts, products, and pipelines.
- No additional fees based off of revenue earned.
3. Teachable:
- Teachable offers a tiered pricing structure, starting at $29 per month for the basic plan, up to $249 per month for the business plan.
- Monthly fees depend on the number of students, courses, and features needed.
- Teachable has a low monthly price, but takes a small percentage of revenue earned.
Synopsis from Darcy: It’s awesome that Thrivecart has a one-time fee and doesn’t take a percentage of your profits. They seem to have a bit of growing pains as they build out their course hosting options, but people are telling me that they really like it. Teachable is great because it’s very user-friendly and low monthly cost for people who are just getting started. Again, I like and use Kajabi because it handles my courses and my email marketing without taking a percentage of my earnings.

1. ThriveCart:
- Ideal for businesses focused on selling products and creating upsells.
- one-time fee
2. Kajabi:
- Offers a comprehensive all-in-one solution for creating, marketing, and selling courses.
